How to Use a Battery Backup / UPS
Plug In When Needed
Plug the tankless unit's power supply strip cord into the battery backup or UPS only when you need hot water during an outage.
Do NOT Leave It Plugged In Constantly
Do NOT keep the tankless unit plugged into the battery backup or UPS all the time. If you do, the battery will go dead within an hour.
Use Only When Needed
By using the battery backup or UPS only when needed, it should last for several hours or even days before it needs to be recharged.
Store It Indoors
Keep your battery backup plugged in inside your home — not in the garage or attic. Heat and cold will significantly reduce its battery life.
